badmeaningood nft's
In early 2022, I was commissioned by Austin Wilde (BADMEANINGOOD team) to design 3 different series of NFTs that showcased original artwork by Banksy. I was honoured to be approached, as I'd just graduated from University and didn't have much experience to my name. I had plenty of Blender knowledge from previous projects so I knew exactly how I'd tackle this project.
For this series, I modelled a CD case in Blender and UV mapped the artwork onto its faces. I then animated the model so that it rotates, showing a full 360° view of the final piece. Underneath this video, I showcase frames from some of the other animations that used different artwork.
For this series, I modelled a Vinyl sleeve in Blender and UV mapped the artwork onto its faces. I then animated the model so that it rotates, showing a full 360° view of the final piece. Underneath, I show all the artwork for the vinyl sleeves as frames from the separate animations.
Finally for this series, I modelled a simple poster mock-up in Blender and UV mapped the artwork onto its faces. I then animated the model so that it rotates, showing a full 360° view of the final piece. With this piece, whenever it spins, the artwork changes to showcase every piece. I showcase all the poster designs underneath that are featured in this animation.
I really enjoyed designing for this project, as even though it was quite simple once I'd designed the initial models that I wanted to animate, there was still a form of challenge in UV mapping the different artwork onto said models. This project was so satisfying, seeing the album art perfectly sit on the models that I'd created, as well as rendering the animations and bringing all the frames together for the final piece. I used Blender for modelling and Adobe Premiere Pro for creating the actual NFT videos. I also used Adobe Photoshop to touch up some of the album art that hadn't scanned very well.
