I have been commissioned by my local coffee shop I've been working at for the past 4 years to recreate the shop in 3D to allow people to join through the Metaverse and explore, learning about brewing methods, as well as having the ability to by brewing kits and fresh coffee.
Because of my experience from the two Virtual Reality projects I've previously done (shown in my portfolio as the first and second projects), I gained lots of knowledge and experience on how the software and hardware works.
I originally designed the coffee shop in Blender, starting with a simple mesh layout at the start and then adding more detailed models and textures later on. The second and third images below are renders of how the shop turned out and underneath these are reference images of the actual shop. I then imported some of the Blender meshes into Unreal Engine 4 as a starting point and created some other objects and items of furniture. The video below is a tour of the coffee shop, showing what the users who join through the Metaverse could experience. Although I haven't set it up to work online yet, everything is almost ready.
In summer 2020, my boss also commissioned me to design the garden that we built at the back of the building. I made a mock-up in Blender, simply creating meshes without textures. Once I had everything positioned how I wanted it, I textured everything to get a feel of how the garden would actually look when it was complete. I simplified some areas just to highlight the layout of benches and tables. The image below is the final render.
